The
entire system called the Triple PPositive Parenting Program originated
in Australia and is now being conducted throughout the world. In the United
States, Triple P America is the only recognized organization that is authorized
to conduct Triple P professional training courses and distribute Triple P resource
materials.
Professional Training Courses: Triple
P America conducts training for practitioners via contractual
arrangements with their organizations/agencies in the delivery of
Triple P parenting programs. Our trainers conduct the Triple P professional
courses at the organizations local site, with up to 20 practitioners
at a time. These professional training courses are conducted throughout
the United States for a variety of organizations such as governmental
agencies (e.g., family services, mental health, social services, early-childhood
agencies), private entities (e.g., practice settings, hospitals, clinics),
and non-profit groups (e.g., prevention of child abuse, philanthropic
foundations).
Triple P Resource Materials: Triple P America serves
as the sole distributor of Triple P resource materials for practitioners
and parents in the United States. Triple P practitioner
resources, DVDs, parent workbooks, tip sheets, and related items are purchased
directly from Triple P America.
International Link: The founder of the Triple P programs
is Professor Matthew Sanders of the University of Queensland in Australia.
Professor Sanders and his colleagues have conducted over 20 years
of rigorous research to develop, validate, and extend the Triple P
system of parenting and family support. The Triple P programs now
operating successfully in many countries throughout the world, including
Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, The Netherlands,
New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States. Triple P America
is actively involved in the international network connected with Triple
P. An important part of this link is a strong interest in the ongoing
scientific work that provides the foundation for Triple P programming
and for the continual process of refining and expanding Triple P applications.
