Standard
Elements of Triple P
Professional Training Courses
|
| Participant
Notes
|
Each participant
receives a Participant Notes booklet that guides the training sessions and
reduces the need for extensive note-taking during training. |
| Intensive
Training
|
The courses are
skill-based and involve training in the theoretical and professional
skills required to implement the program effectively with families.
Instructional methods include:
didactic presentations, video and live demonstrations of
strategies, simulated practice of consultation skills in small groups,
feedback, and clinical problem solving exercises. The course is
divided into two parts. |
| Competency
Practice and Accreditation
|
The second part of
training involves a competency
practice and accreditation day, is scheduled 8-10 weeks after the first
part of the training course. This integral part of training leads to greater
confidence and competence with Triple P, and also to official accreditation as a Triple P practitioner. |
| Resource
Materials
|
For
implementation after training, specific resource materials (e.g.,
practitioner kits) are needed depending on the course.
The organization is responsible for purchasing these resource
materials from Triple P America so that they will be available to each
participant at the beginning of the training course. |
