Practitioner's
Kit for Primary Care Triple P

Primary
Care Triple P employs a brief parent education focus for specific
child behavior problems and may include active skills training to
help parents acquire new knowledge and skills. Included in the primary
care kit is the Practitioner’s Manual for Primary Care Triple P, which
has detailed session guidelines and examples of verbatim scripts for
four 15 -30 minute sessions.
The kit also includes the Consultation Flip Chart for Primary
Care Triple P, which is designed to assist practitioners in explaining
key parenting strategies to parents during consultation sessions.
It is a free-standing flip chart that includes an overview of strategies
for parents and, on the reverse side, instructions for practitioners,
examples of each strategy and key issues to be discussed with parents.
Also included is the Five Steps to Positive Parenting developmental
wall chart. This wall chart illustrates the five key principles of
positive parenting across normal stages of child development. Its
aim is to assist practitioners and parents in preparing for developmental
challenges and ensuring realistic age-appropriate expectations. Other
resources used in sessions and as homework tasks are the Every Parent
Video Series, Triple P Single-Topic Video Series, and Triple P Tip
Sheet Series (not included in the kit). |
Facilitator's
Kit for Group Triple P

The
Facilitator’s Kit for Group Triple P make up the group program,
an 8-week program consisting of four 2-hour group sessions and
four 15-30 minute individual telephone sessions. This group
facilitator's kit consists of the Facilitator's Manual for Group
Triple P, which has detailed session guidelines with examples
of verbatim scripts, a package of overhead transparencies for
each group session, and Every Parent's Group Workbook which
includes practical information on positive parenting strategies
as well as activities and between-session tasks. The Every Parent's
Survival Guide Video (not included in the kit) is also used
in group sessions for demonstration and as a stimulus for group
discussion. |
Practitioner's Kit for Standard Triple P

The
Practitioner's Manual for Standard Triple P and Every Parent's Family
Workbook detail Standard Triple P, a 10-session parenting skills program
delivered in individual sessions. Sessions typically last 60 minutes
each. Standard Triple P incorporates session activities and homework
tasks covering causes of children's behavior problems, strategies
for encouraging children's development, and strategies for managing
misbehavior. In-session behavioral rehearsal and dedicated practice
sessions provide opportunities for parents to practice and review
their use of positive parenting skills. Every Parent's Survival Guide
video segments (not included in the kit) may also be used to demonstrate
specific strategies and prompt discussion. |
Practitioner's Kit for Enhanced Triple P

The
Practitioner’s Kit for Enhanced Triple P, which includes the Practitioner's
Manual for Enhanced Triple P and Every Parent's Supplementary Workbook,
is for experienced practitioners conducting tailored individual family
intervention sessions. Enhanced Triple P is designed to continue after
Standard, Group or Self-Directed Triple P for families experiencing
ongoing child difficulties, or who may have additional family adversity
factors such as parental adjustment difficulties and partner support
difficulties. The manual includes assessment measures, detailed session
guidelines and parent worksheets for a review interview, three therapy
modules (Practice, Coping Skills and Partner Support), and a closure
session that aims to promote maintenance of treatment gains. The modules
can be used to tailor the intervention to each family's needs. Each
module is conducted on average in three sessions lasting up to 90
minutes each (with the exception of practice sessions which should
last 40 min.). All sessions employ an active skills training process
to help parents acquire new knowledge and skills. |
Practitioner's Kit for Standard Stepping Stones Triple P

The
Practitioner's Manual for Standard Stepping Stones Triple P and the
Stepping Stones Triple P Family Workbook detail Standard Stepping
Stones Triple P, a 10-session parenting skills program delivered in
individual sessions. Stepping Stones Triple P is a variation of the
core Triple P programming that has been adapted for families with
preadolescent children who have a disability. Sessions typically
last 60 minutes each. Stepping Stones Triple P incorporates session
activities and homework tasks covering causes of children's behavior
problems, strategies for encouraging children's development, and strategies
for managing misbehavior. In-session behavioral rehearsal and dedicated
practice sessions provide opportunities for parents to practice and
review their use of positive parenting skills. It is recommended that
this practitioner kit be used in conjunction with the video (not included
in the kit) entitled Stepping Stones Triple P: A Survival Guide
for Families with a Child Who Has a Disability, which is useful for
demonstrating specific strategies and prompting discussion. |
